It’s an unfortunate fact that videotape, if not stored properly, will deteriorate after only a few years as they lose signal strength and the magnetic recording medium begins to flake off. The result is ruined recordings, dropouts, flashing lines, jumping, tearing, unstable pictures and hissing sound.

However, valuable recorded material can usually be saved, and restored to near original condition PROVIDED that the right re-mastering equipment is used to do the job.

Digital re-mastering
